Installation and Care
Care & Keeping of Your Wild Kin
Your Wild Irish Kin sculptures are designed to live happily in gardens, patios, balconies, and even indoors. Here’s how to install them securely and keep them looking their best.
Outdoor Display
Your sculpture is safe outdoors year-round, but a little care will keep it at its best:
-
Place in a well-ventilated location.
-
Avoid prolonged contact with constantly damp soil or standing water beneath the piece.
-
Wipe occasionally with a soft, dry cloth to keep the sealed surface clean.
Indoor Display
Yes — they’re at home indoors too.
-
The rusted patina is sealed, so it won’t flake or stain under normal conditions.
-
Keep away from damp surfaces or fabrics that could trap moisture.
-
Dust gently with a dry or very lightly damp cloth.
Care & Maintenance
-
Each sculpture is finished through a controlled rusting process to achieve its rich patina, then sealed with a professional-grade clear oil.
-
Our creatures may be wild, but they’re not left to the elements — each one is treated with Owatrol® Oil, a professional rust protector trusted worldwide for outdoor metalwork, keeping them strong and beautiful in every season.
-
Over time, the colour may deepen or shift subtly — this is part of the natural beauty of mild steel.
-
Reapply a clear outdoor metal sealant once every 1–2 years if your sculpture is exposed to harsh conditions.
Natural Evolution
Every Wild Irish Kin is unique.
-
Surface tone, rust patterns, and markings will vary naturally.
-
Minor changes in tone or texture over the years add to the individuality of each piece.
Important Notes
-
Edges are smoothed for safety, though some may retain a slight rawness due to the handmade process.
-
Decorative use only — not a toy.
-
Handle with care when installing or moving.
With just a little care, your Wild Irish Kin will become a long-lasting companion in your garden or home — evolving gracefully with the seasons, just like the Irish wildlife that inspired them.
